Senior Management

• Mahmood H. Alkooheji
Acting Chief Executive Officer

As the Acting Chief Executive Officer of Edamah, Mahmood Alkooheji is responsible for devising and executing the company strategy to manage and grow the Kingdom’s real estate assets, spearheading Edamah’s strategic plans for the future.

He currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company (Mumtalakat), the sovereign wealth fund of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

His career has spanned the public sector with a focus on industrial and commercial investments. As the Chairman of Alba (Aluminium Bahrain) between 2008 and 2014, he spearheaded the company’s restructuring and the successful listing of 10% of its shares on both the London and Bahrain stock exchanges. Similarly, as the Chairman of Gulf Air between 2007 and 2008, he launched the airline’s single-ownership restructuring programme.

His history within the Ministry of Finance is noteworthy as he administered the privatization of key public assets in his years as the Director of Government Shareholding, developing the national privatization policy. This was further enhanced in his continued capacities as Assistant Undersecretary through which he supported the Economic Development Board’s efforts to establish Mumtalakat.

In recognition of his public service to the Kingdom, Alkooheji is the recipient of a number of honours. Most notably, he was awarded the Order of Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, 4th Class in 2000 and the Order of Achievement, 1st Class by HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in 2012. A Chevalier of the Légion d’honneur, the highest decoration in France, he holds Board memberships in a number of companies including the McLaren Group, Arcapita and Durrat Khaleej Al Bahrain.

Alkooheji holds a BEng in Mechanical Engineering from Staffordshire University and a MBA from Henley College of Management, Brunel University.


• Robert Mather
Chief Projects Officer

Robert joined Edamah in January 2016 as Chief Projects Officer. Within this role, Robert  manages the implementation of quality management systems, provision of professional and technical inputs, and manages Edamah’s corporate compliance with the industry’s standards business and technical metrics.

Prior to joining Edamah, he was the Director of Technical & Business Development at Gulf House Engineering. He was also previously the Project Manager for the National Planning Development Strategies, and other various roles as Design Manager, and Senior Architect.

Robert is an award winning chartered architect and urban designer with in-depth experience in design and delivery of prestigious projects spanning several continents, ranging from hotel complexes, high-end commercial/retail developments, distinct housing/residential projects and leisure/recreational schemes. He is a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects, Royal Incorporation of Architects Scotland, Architects Registration Board UK and RIBA Urban Design Group.

He holds a B.Arch. (Hons) and a B.Sc. in Architecture, from Dundee University, Scotland, a Diploma Urban Design from Aberdeen University, Scotland, and a Diploma in Urban Design from RIBA , London.


• Linda Mattar
Vice President-Projects

The Vice President overseeing Projects, Linda joined Edamah’s team in 2017. Her main responsibilities include business development management, design management, and seeking new business opportunities.

She has over 18 years of experience in the real estate sector, with extensive knowledge in real estate development management, investment advisory, property management, marine works, architecture, master planning, infrastructure design and construction.

Prior to Joining Edamah, she worked at Manara Developments as an Executive Director  where she oversaw the development of multimillion dollar land reclamation projects, managed marine and environment consultants, contractors, infrastructure design and construction. Her responsibilities also included preparing project strategies and operational plans, financial forecasts, developing long term scheduling, phasing and budgeting.

Linda also worked as a Principal at Capivest Investment Bank in the real estate investment department where she was responsible for evaluating and selecting real estate investment opportunities, analysing property laws and overseeing property transactions in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Oman.

Prior to that, she worked as an Architectural Engineer at the Bahrain Defence Force.

Linda holds a BSc in Architectural Engineering from the University of Bahrain.


• Raed Hatem
Head of Property Management

Raed joined Bahrain Real Estate Investment (Edamah) in November 2016 and currently holds the role of Head of Property Management, overseeing the Property and Facilities Management functions.


Prior to joining Edamah, Raed worked in the Real Estate Investments division of the Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company (Mumtalakat) where he was responsible for assessing local and international real estate opportunities and managing existing portfolio companies to better enhance their presence and adopt value creation.


With over 23 years of experience in the banking sector, Raed’s industry exposure includes finance and accounting, real estate and private equity investments. Prior to joining Mumtalakat, Raed held the role of Assistant Vice President at Sage Capital Management Group, and was responsible for real estate and private equity investment, including origination, structuring and M&A transactions. Raed was also responsible for managing assets under management in excess of U$ 500 million.


Raed also worked in the Real Estate Investment division in Arcapita Bank and was responsible for managing a wide-ranging portfolio of assets in India, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and the Kingdom of Bahrain as a member of the team that successfully launched and closed real estate income generating funds in the GCC.


Raed holds an MBA from the University of Glamorgan as well as a number of banking and finance specific diplomas.
